I usually don't listen to or watch political speeches (especially state of the union speeches) but I broke my usual routine last night, January 24, 2012 and watched.

I agreed with some of what President Obama had to say and disagreed with some of it but that's the beauty of being an American...we have the right to agree and disagree.

I won't speak for you because I can't but I will speak for me because I can. I don't consider myself a democrat, a republican, an independent or an alien. I vote for whoever I think will serve this country well regardless of their political affiliation. I have voted for republicans in the past and I have voted for democrats in the past and I will continue to do so.

Now I'll speak for me and say that there desperately needs to be an extreme overhaul of the tax code system so that millionaires definitely do pay more in taxes than the middle class and poor Americans. Anyone with a brain the size of a mustard seed would agree to that!

If most Americans didn't have to live from paycheck to paycheck they too could have the extra money to invest like the millionaires do (and by living paycheck to paycheck I don't mean we take vacations every year that we can't afford or buy new cars or live above our means) rather what I'm referring to is the fact that we're working 50 to 60 hours a week trying to support our families and maintain our home, our vehicles, and our good credit.  We pay our bills on time, if not before, we follow the rules, we play by the rules, and we lay in bed at nighttime worrying if we'll wake up the next morning and still have health care benefits.

How can anyone who has a concsience not agree that taxing the millionaires more then the middle class and poor is the right thing to do?
