Channel surfer

I'm sitting here watching television and as I'm flipping through the channels I can't help but see snippets of the trashy shows that are on. Shows such as Bad Girls Club, and The Real Housewives of blah, blah, blah and so on and so forth.
Yes, I know that I don't have to watch them, and I can easily turn the channel or turn my T.V. off and for the record ~ I don't watch them but I was just wondering why can't we have equal time for a few shows on television that depict random acts of kindness or showing empathy toward others or helping instead of hurting?

Why can't we have the Good Girls Club or The Real Housewives of Indiana or Ohio or wherever ~ showing real moms who carpool, clean house, do laundry, pay bills, work, grocery shop, mow grass, bathe children, cook dinner, clean the kitchen up, etc?  Why can't we show girls, and guys for that matter, who volunteer, help the elderly, lend a hand, show compassion, and do something worth while?

I know why? because sadly it doesn't get the ratings. Some people, I'm assuming, would rather watch the slutty half-naked hair-pulling, foul-mouthed, alcoholic, fist-fighting, drama-queens than to watch regular normal people commit random acts of kindness and be compassionate toward others.
Wow...what an example we're setting for our youth?
