I was in Wal-mart tonight getting a few items when all of a sudden I heard a child screaming to the top of their lungs several ailes over so I swiftly walked over to make sure everything was alright. I saw the mother of this tantrum-throwing child begging him to please behave. He looked to be about 5 or 6 years old and evidently wanted a toy which the mother, at first, denied?

Oh well...what to do?  This mother did something that I NEVER would have done. She was undoubtedly horrified that her child was throwing a fit in a very public place so guess what...she caved!
The tantrum-throwing child got his way...again! So what did he learn?  That if he makes a scene and throws a fit he'll get his way!

Part of me felt sorry for this mother. Maybe she wanted to discipline him but was afraid of nosey on-lookers calling the police or interferring if she tried or maybe it was her pattern to give in? Who knows?
Either way, I'm thankful my kids are grown and out of the house and that they NEVER acted that way in or out of public view. They knew better! Thank you kids.
